Maine Rod & Reel Fishing and Fly Fishing
Maine has beautiful, pristine bodies of water in which to choose from to fish.
In the winter, try ice fishing Wyman Lake, or if you're staying at our Jackman property, fish Big Wood Lake, Spencer Lake or Holeb Pond. Ice shacks available for rent for the day or weekend.
In the summer, from each property there are numerous choices of ponds, lakes and streams to choose from. We have a canoe on-site for our lodgers.
If you stay at our Jackman property there are a great deal for anglers of every type and skill level. Its assortment of waters and cold water fish make it a great destination for anglers seeking a quality fishing experience. Open water season starts from ice out and continues through the summer and into fall (which is catch and release time - but still loads of fun)!
In the spring, after ice out in late April or early May, the ponds and streams produce some open water fishing opportunities that will have you scrambling for you favorite lure. The waters are cold and the fish will be closer to the top! As the summer sun warms the waters, you may need to troll the deeper waters to get your catch.
Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Lake trout, and Splake are the primary species inhabiting most of the lakes, ponds, and rivers throughout the area. These particular game fish like cool water, but that doesn't mean they won't venture up into warmer waters, searching for food.
If you want solitude, then Sunrise Ridge is the place for you to spend a week - to get away from it all.
